Abstract

Objective: In recent years, various models for behavioral interventions have been proposed. The widespread availability of these models has created a kind of ambiguity for behavioral policymakers regarding how to adopt approaches. Accordingly, the aim of this article is to present behavioral insight frameworks and their application for better selection by policymakers.



Method: The present study was conducted using the scoping review method. For this purpose, relevant research was searched in the international Scopus database. In this regard, by reviewing scientific articles between 2010 and 2025, 484 documents were identified, and finally 47 articles were purposefully selected and examined as a research sample.



Findings: 18 behavioral insight frameworks were identified and presented from 2009 to 2025. They were classified into 4 categories: theoretical frameworks, choice architecture, operational-intervention-oriented, and structural.



Conclusion: The results of the study showed that the selection of the appropriate model for behavioral intervention to solve a general problem depends on various factors, which are greatly influenced by time and place requirements, in addition to identifying the type of problem. Therefore, a decision support matrix can help policymakers in the field of selecting the appropriate behavioral intervention model.
