Investigating the Effect of Toxic Leadership Style and Dysfunctional Behaviors on Employees’ Outcomes and Job Attitudes

Abstract
The lack of effective leadership is not limited to economic organization, but in education, foundations and all other types of organizations.What sometimes hurts organizations is the presence of those who take on the role of leadership in organizations and cannot do the work in an efficient and effective way; toxic leaders are of this kind.The purpose of this study is to identify the effect of this type of leadership style and the dysfunctional behaviors of these leaders on the occupational outcomes and attitudes of the employees of government agencies in Qom.The research method was descriptive survey and the sample size was 384 people. A questionnaire was used to collect data.Structural equation modeling and SPSS, WARP-PLS software were used to analyze the data.The results show that toxic leadership has a positive effect on employees’dysfunctional behavior and turnover intention, but it has a negative and significant effect on organizational commitment, job satisfaction, and employee retention.In other hypotheses, the effect of dysfunctional behavior on organizational commitment and job satisfaction is negative, and also the dysfunctional behavioral has a positive and significant effect on turnover intention, but the dysfunctional behavior has no effect on employeeretention.
